Principal's Corner
Welcome to Placer School, Home of the Miners!
Placer School has a unique history in the town of Loomis. We are known for offering a rigorous yet traditional education to students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade.
Many of our Placer School parents are, themselves, former students. They have intentionally moved back to Loomis so that their children can experience what they refer to as the “Placer School magic.” We are your children’s family away from home!
Our teachers are fully credential and highly trained educational specialists. They are dedicated to meeting the needs of the ‘whole child’ and work closely with their colleagues to provide an excellent education to every student. Recent parent surveys indicate that over 95% of our families feel that their children are ‘connected’ to their teachers in a positive way. We have high expectations for our children in both the academic and behavioral arenas, and they always rise to meet our expectations. Visitors to our school are often heard to remark, “I didn’t know that schools like this still exist!” We are truly proud of the students who learn with us and thank you for the opportunity to work with them.
Our primary vehicles for communication are: e-mail and telephone. We also display pertinent information on our webpage, and PTC website. ( www.placerptc.org) I encourage you to stay in communication with your child’s teacher(s) and to become an active participant in school events. Our generous PTC (Parent-Teacher-Club) hosts numerous fun events for the school and community. Be sure to check them out! Your children love it when you come to their school.
