Placer Elementary School

Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Ready!

Principal's Message

Principal's Corner

Welcome to the Placer Elementary community! I am very excited to be leading Placer into this next chapter of excellence within the Loomis Union School District.

Placer Elementary is a warm, welcoming place with dedicated teachers and a school community that allows every student to flourish. Our campus is tucked away in a rural part of Loomis where students are surrounded by nature. A perfect place for students to learn and grow.

Our dedicated staff serves approximately 520 students from Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through Eighth Grade.

Placer is committed to collaborating with our community, staff, and students to ensure that students achieve high academic standards, have a love of learning, and are inspired to become responsible and caring community decision makers. We are proud to offer regular Music for TK-4th graders, Band for 5th and 6th graders, Concert and Jazz Band for 7th and 8th graders, Art and PE for all students in addition to our core subjects of Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Science.

Parents/Guardians and community members are always welcome on campus. One of the best ways to support your child is to stay involved.  First, and most importantly, be sure to stay in contact with your child’s teacher. Do not hesitate to reach out to them with any questions, concerns, or celebrations. We also encourage you to be an active participant in our school through volunteering in the classroom, attending school events, becoming part of the Miner Watch Team, and joining our Parent Teacher Club (Placer PTC Website).

When you are on campus, be on the lookout for The Miner Way: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Ready to Learn. Through the Miner Way, we strive to create a positive, safe, and caring environment where our students thrive in every situation.

We understand that it is not always possible to volunteer in the classroom during the school day. One of the best ways to help your child is by reading to them or encouraging them to read every day. Reading is vital to your child’s success in school. Other ways to help your child be successful are to establish a routine at home for school work, talk to your child about their day, reinforce the Miner Way (be respectful, be responsible, be ready), and prepare them to be ready for the next school day.

We are looking forward to working with you and your child to make this our best year yet. Thank you in advance for your support. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
